It's rather silly to beleive that starving animals are going to be particular as to what is available to eat.
Although Ant Eaters prefer ants and termites, they will also eat fruits and bird eggs.
Black Panthers prefer deer, but will eat fish also.

Black Bears will eat berries, roots, insects, meat and fish.
It's even sillier to beleive that an omniscient God would not be aware of this and not prepare for these situations.
